PEAAII’S AI Summer Camp 2026
The Paul English Applied Artificial Intelligence Institute (PEAAII) at the University of Massachusetts Boston is excited to launch the AI Summer Research Camp, running from July 27 to August 28, 2026. This immersive program invites motivated students of all backgrounds and experience levels to explore the world of artificial intelligence while working directly with leading researchers and cutting-edge technologies. Unlike typical summer programs, this camp places students in an active research environment, giving them a strong foundation for tackling real-world AI challenges.
Participants will work on hands-on AI projects alongside UMass Boston professors and research mentors in areas such as machine learning, robotics, cybersecurity, health applications, and AI ethics. Each student is paired with a faculty mentor to guide their original research project, and the final-day “AI in ONE Day” event, scheduled on August 28th, brings the entire cohort together for presentations, guest talks, and live demonstrations of the university’s latest AI innovations. These sessions create a vibrant, collaborative community where students learn from both faculty experts and peers working across diverse AI topics.
Rooted in the spirit of “AI for Everyone,” the camp emphasizes accessibility, intellectual curiosity, and real-world impact. No prior programming experience is required—only curiosity, motivation, and a willingness to learn. By combining faculty-mentored research, interdisciplinary AI exploration, and exposure to a dynamic university research ecosystem, the PEAAII AI Summer Research Camp offers a unique opportunity to develop practical skills, gain a deep understanding of modern AI, and work on meaningful projects with real-world relevance.
